Head of Cipinang Detention Center Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights DKI Jakarta Attends Thanksgiving Activities Towards 58 Years of Correction

The head of the Cipinang Detention Center attended an activity organized by the Directorate General of Corrections in order to welcome and commemorate the 58th Correctional Service Day (HBP) in 2022 with the theme “Criminals are SURE and with Morals to Realize an Advanced Indonesia”.

The Tasyakuran activity, which involves all levels of prisons throughout Indonesia, aims to increase the commitment of the correctional staff in achieving the goals of correctional facilities. The main purpose of the correctional itself is to create skilled and high-productivity humans so that they are ready to compete.

Taking place at the Grand Ballroom of The Sultan Hotel Jakarta, this activity showcased the collaboration of the skills of Correctional Inmates (WBP) and Correctional Officers in an art performance entitled Prison Art Show. Music, dance, and modeling are part of it.

Not only that, in order to show support for WBP’s work, the event also held an exhibition of WBP’s work from various Correctional Institutions (Lapas) and State Detention Centers (Rutan). In fact, the clothes and attributes used in the fashion show are the work of the WBP.

Minister of Law and Human Rights, Yasonna H. Laoly said this was an effort to improve the welfare of the inmates when they returned to the community. If it is not provided with provisions, the potential for recidivism will be even greater.

In addition to art performances and exhibitions of WBP’s work, the event was also enlivened by the announcement of various competitions in the context of the 58th HBP, the One Day One Prison’s Product raffle, announcements of the achievements of each of the 58th HBP activities, to the presentation of awards for the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Rights. Human Rights, Correctional Service Unit, and Correctional partners (government, private, community) who have contributed to the development of Indonesian Corrections.
